For me Kerala is South India’s most serenely beautiful state. It is the place for nature lovers and couples who want to spend some beautiful time in the heart of nature. My husband and I had this planned in the month of January(23-29). We followed the trend of winter vacation and landed here to “God’s own Country”.
Kerala historically known as Keralam, is a state in South India on the Malabar Coast. It is divided into 14 districts with the capital and the largest city being Thiruvananthapuram. Malayalam is the most widely spoken language and is also the official language of the state. The beauty of Kerala lies in its nature, its calmness and its serenity.
There are numerous blogs and articles being shared here about Kerala trip. So, I would extend that idea to pen down here my own experience. Best time for visit to Kerala would be from December to March. I would love to share here my trip destinations from one to another.

Munnar(Famous for its Misty weather,Beautiful Lakes, Tea Estate,Spice Gardens and Chocolate Factories)
We had a stay in Munnar for 2 days. We took a taxi from Cochin and headed towards Munnar which took us around 5 hours to reach our Hotel. Upon reaching the Hotel which was located amidst the Nature made us feel relaxed. We stayed at Rarees Mist Resort approx. 10 km away from the city in the forest. There was network problem but the wi-fi at the hotel helped us in contacting our loved ones. The next day we had done sightseeing of Munnar by Taxi, Tea Estate Factory, Echopoint, MattupettyDam, ElephantRide, Flower garden, Anamudi Peak, Kundala lake, Photo Point.
If you are a nature lover do plan to stay amidst the forest away from the city. There are many resorts 10 km away from the Munnar city.
Alleppey – Boat House in Alleppey is a must!
On the 3rd day,We headed towards Alleppey by taxi. It took us around 4-5 hours to reach the Boathouse that we had pre-booked online via Booking.com. for 8.5 k. The Boathouse- Southern Panorama was good and Giant. Timings for the Boathouse stay was from noon 12 to morning 9 a.m. We started off sailing towards the sea and had an immense feeling of a cruise sailing in the sea. We were offered to visit the canals in the village of Alleppey for an hour. We did that as well- not missing a single chance to see the amazing beauty of the trip. We also stopped by a fish store, where you could have a chance to buy the fish and make it prepare for yourself at the boathouse.
Kovalam – An unexplored Beach!
It was the best part on our list in the Trip. We traveled the next day at 10 a.m. towards Kovalam by Taxi. It was straight highway and took us around 4 hours to reach our final destination point. We stayed in a hotel near the beach for 4 days. The hotel was sea facing and one of the best to stay over. We tried all types of cuisines being offered there like crab, lobsters, Fish. There was a restaurant called “Kerala Cafe” where we had a good taste of coffee and delicious Prawns.
